Operational or embodied?

As your organisation focuses on achieving its carbon zero targets, keep the two different types of carbon emissions in mind: operational and embodied. According to the Net Zero Carbon Guide, operational carbon emissions include those associated with the energy necessary to run a building, generally anything that requires gas or electricity like heat, lighting or lifts. Embodied carbon emissions refer to emissions generated during production, construction or even demolition. This would include the production of materials used in construction.
